Old Advice

Don’t get old

I’m told

As if it is

Something I have a say in

-Kel Dayheart

Maybe today

Is the day

I’ve been waiting for

Where I will

Actually finish something

Wishing for Forever

The romanticized lifetime of fame

With never ending earthy dwellings

That has an eternity worth of aims

Before the restlessness clings

Always, forever, eternity of future

New faces and lives

Summertime dims in dying nature

And an ancient grief ever gives

Seasons change and fade

But winter never seems to close

And sunset on this miserable man

Too wise for the continuous flows

But why would there ever be a wish

For mortal life when it will only diminish?
